Conference Overview

The Fall Kansas Art Education Association Professional Development Conference will take place October 28th-30th 2021 in Wichita, Kansas at our host hotel- the Drury Inn Plaza Hotel Broadview.

This year's conference theme is "Art on the Town" which is an encouragement for art teachers to enjoy one another's company and take time to go out and explore the arts and activities throughout Wichita.  It is ALSO a focus on creating connections between the arts and our community- considering public art projects and collaborative efforts utilizing artists and resources around us and appreciating our cultural diversity.

Our keynote speaker is Armando Minjarez, a local artist who spearheaded the Horizontes Project which consists of multiple murals throughout the communities in Wichita.  He will speak at the luncheon on Friday.

We are excited to host the awards banquet Saturday afternoon and honor both the 2020 and this year's KAEA award winners!

With our plans to return to an in-person format, we want everyone welcome to join us either wearing masks or fully immunized, and being RESPECTFUL of one another's safety considerations and choices. Please be aware that due to the changing environment, you may be required to wear masks during the conference depending on local and CDC guidance.

Registration, once active, will be linked to RegFox online. The anticipated base conference fee for current active members is $145. Non-members, other categories, and partial attendance rates will be posted at registration.  Specific workshops may have additional material fees in addition to the base rate.  We hope to have online registration open by August 20th.
